With all of those serious problems after the sales changes before the v7 release and the small timeframe for writing and printing the manual, it was simply not possible, to deliver a proper documentation of all program features.
I have to agree, the v7 manual is far from being perfect. Of course this is all IMHO (I just figured out what that means.) Any sentence that uses that word is listed.
Hint: When you set up your help index it will ask if you want the basic index (preferred) or the completely detailed index. It surprises me because those Germans are always so detailed about everything! but not this. I looked up 'Display' in the manual to learn more about my options, and the word 'display' isn't even in there. There's a display toggle you can implement that switches with the Cntl+ Tab key. I've looked up, literally, 8 things in a row that aren't in the book index. But at least the info seems to be in there for the most part. It's fair, but lots and lots of typos, grammatical errors, misspellings, you name it. I rely totally on the help index in the program anytime I want to really get the lowdown on something.

Steinberg Wavelab's manual is perfect, albeit a different style program, but I'd guess that the Cubase and Nuendo manuals are excellent. It's good for quick starting and very general referencing, but for advanced referencing it's the worst I've seen. The second thing I've learned is that the manual SUCKS! I had a psychology professor in college who told me, "A book is only as good as it's index", and the index, my friend, is horrible. It's stable, it's intuitive, it does what you want it to, it's incredibly easy to learn, and it sounds incredible. I'm new to the forum, and new to Samplitude, but I've learned two things at this point: First, The SAM program itself is wonderful.
